The 8th Annual Tackle Child Abuse Dinner & Auction

One day after an invigorating victory on the football field, the Seattle Seahawks posted another huge win: helping Childhaven raise over $500,000 at our annual dinner and auction on November 9th.

It was the highest fundraising total in the eight-year history of the event, a partnership with the Seahawks and the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation.

In addition to bidding on beautiful jewelry, amazing travel excursions and once-in-a-lifetime experiences, the 575 guests at the elegant event were encouraged to "raise your bid cards and invest in the lives of our children" by honorary event co-chair and former Seahawk Mack Strong, who called a gift to Childhaven "the safest, most secure investment you can make, now or ever." The call to "fund the mission" raised $191,000.

Wide receiver and Seattle native Nate Burleson was honored with the Ed Block Courage Award, voted upon by his Seahawks teammates to recognize exceptional courage on and off the field. He said his resolve in facing injuries and managing his recovery paled in comparison to what Childhaven children face each day.

We are grateful to everyone who attended, the many volunteers who made the event a sucess and our generous event sponsors.
