Andrea Solomon
Vice President, Resource Development

When it comes to building relationships with donors, Andrea Solomon likes to let Childhaven “speak” for itself.
That’s why she relishes her role as tour guide. She’ll take donors through Childhaven’s facilities so they can see the work their support makes possible and witness first-hand the impact they’re making on the lives of children.
All Andrea has to do to feel inspired is watch Childhaven’s kids being kids on the playground.
“I love to watch the pure joy they have,” she says. “I’m also so touched when I see one child help to comfort another child. To me, that’s hard evidence that Childhaven works.”
Andrea has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Daniel J. Evans School of Public Administration at the University of Washington.
She was Associate Director of Development at the YWCA before coming to Childhaven in 2007.
As Vice President for Resource Development, its Andrea’s job to make sure Childhaven has the financial resources it needs to achieve its mission. To that end, she connects those with a passion for helping children and families to Childhaven in the hopes they develop a relationship with the agency and support it.
In many ways, Childhaven sells itself. “The agency’s 100 year history is testament to the relevance and importance of our work in the community,”adds Andrea, who came to Childhaven in 2007.
