Marie Sohl
Program Director, Eli Creekmore Memorial Branch
Marie Sohl takes heart in the growth she sees every day. It’s in their faces – the joy, the wonder, the blossoming confidence.
She’s also inspired by and respectful of the parents and their struggles. Many are working hard to give their children the secure and loving foundation they didn’t have growing up.
“My greatest hope that people feel their time here is a special time, marked by their own growth and development,” she adds. That goes for staff members, too.
As program manager of Childhaven’s Eli Creekmore Memorial Branch, Marie works to foster a team environment for employees and a safe and welcoming place for children and families.
Hired by Childhaven in 1997 as a case manager, Marie has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Portland State University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
Childhaven is successful because of its long history of placing children’s safety and welfare above all else, she says. “The core belief in our mission to protect children and to empower families creates a momentum of single-minded, purposeful action that unifies our entire agency at all levels.”
